Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant will be a self-starter and highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude and professional demeanor. This individual will have an innate ability to problem-solve quickly, think creatively, and effectively multi-task as required drawing upon solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities as he/she will serve as project-manager and be accountable for several key marketing programs and projects. The Marketing Assistant will have a solid understanding of core marketing principles with proficiencies in the areas of marketing automation, graphics and social media.


Essential Job Functions

The Marketing Assistant should possess a willingness to tackle and own all projects, big and small, which will include:

  • Assist in email campaign creation including email/landing page design, content and follow up
  • Manage contact database in marketing automation platform
  • Assist in website maintenance and management including writing content, uploading pictures, managing look and feel
  • Develop and manage social media campaigns including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Assist in the management and execution of corporate insights (blog, videos, case studies, white papers, etc.)
  • Assist in the creation and usage of marketing collateral, power points, displays, etc.
  • Organize and maintain marketing supplies including gifts, collateral and apparel
  • Assist in writing/editing press releases and newsletters
  • Assist in coordinating company events
  • Other duties as required

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing/Communications (highly desirable)
  • Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Work experience in the IT industry a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of email campaign tools (Marketing Automation)
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce.com) a plus
  • Basic HTML knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices
  • Creative and analytical mindset
  • Thorough and careful attention to details and accuracy
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and techniques
  • Good understanding of new media and traditional marketing communications
  • Superior project management skills with great organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to wear multiple hats and a get the job done attitude
  • Willingness to learn and grow with marketing director
  • Ability to work on a team and have fun
