Position Overview

Cumberland Group is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our IoT and Innovation team.  As  our IoT platform grows and new use cases are discovered, this position will be in charge of helping to enable our platform expansion at the data discovery level. Embedded Software Engineers will develop software to interface various micro-controllers and  sensors devices.  This hands on position will have the Candidate working with sensor hardware and designing new software drivers for ARM Cortex devices.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop software drivers and applications for embedded hardware.
• Construct and support new software for hardware additions to micro-controllers.
• Provide insight into product development by engaging with team members frequently.
• Document and troubleshoot
   

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of embedded C programming experience
• Confident understanding of Linux OS
• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc...
• Knowledge of ARM processors and embedded tool chains.
• Aware of embedded software debugging methods and practices
• Solid communication skills
• Eagerness to innovate and be part of a team that is passionate about building new technologies.
